They Don’t Say ‘Victim’ Anymore…

They don’t say victim anymore. It’s ‘survivor’. ‘Over-comer’.
But I don’t feel much like an over-comer when a knock at the door leaves me all rabbit-in-headlights. When flashbacks knock the oxygen right out of me and thoughts won’t form a straight line, survivor doesn’t fit quite right either.

Why I Will Always Dream of a Road Trip

To this very day, every chance my friends and I get, we will ‘plan a road trip’. Now that I’ve moved to Springfield – seven hours away – there’s always a reason to bring the idea up; and that’s not to say we haven’t been doing it for years. Whenever a weekend is extended or any normal break approaches we’ll all communicate one way or another and set up the entire trip – but we never follow through with it.
